Playing catch up amongst the 'busy' summer in Ontario...and wanted to share some of these stunning images of Victoria. Muskoka driving...Back and forth, back and forth...every time I get 'there'...you take my breath away. Trees and fresh air, golden light...
There's a sense of 'peace' that makes you want to stay there forever. All else falling away as gorgeous simplicity swallows you at every turn.
Victoria and family have been clients/friends of mine for years now.
She's working at making BIG dreams come true...
Funny how everything is possible inside the minds of children. At some point everything shifts...we become less imaginative, less silly, less...*alive*
And the boxes we create around ourselves stifle who we are and what we can become...what is possible.
Might be worth looking at what's 'keeping you inside' ...what box you've created and the limits you've imposed on yourself.
Dreams and possibility are not limited to children.
...expand and stretch yourself, outside of yourself.
Be too loud, too different, too much...
The things we love and are passionate about ...stay with us 'always'...
I used to rip out magazine ads and paste them all over my walls. Of people and emotions. Having fun, real LIFE...
I'm now creating these same images! ...and loving every minute of it...AND getting paid for it. There are things in your life that excite you, that you're passionate about...maybe even just drawn too. Move towards those things, explore and let go.
Or else what's the point?
Life is about 'living outside of the box' ...and possibility is created when we learn to try anything and everything with an open mind. We might not get it right.
And...we might just get it all.

Muskoka Memories | wedding

The wedding of BJ and Janet Crombeen was featured in last years Muskoka Magazine (...better late than never!) detailing the couples relationship since they were 16! and Janet planning a wedding around her soon-to-be-husband's NHL schedule (BJ plays for the St. Louis Blues).
From the engagement to the wedding both BJ and Janet were super easy going and fun! I can't stress the importance around 'client/photographer trust' and an amazing relationship. Clients often remark 'how amazing I am'...(blush) however I always come back with, "I can't shoot what isn't already there."
Such an unbelievable day...'let go'...
Nothing is in your control BUT, the feelings and WHY you're getting married. To stress, worry or look forward to 'getting it over with'...defeats the point of a ....celebration.
So embrace and look forward to every moment of your wedding planning. There will be blips and obstacles along the way. Just like life...
How you react however...? will show up in your photos!!!

Love | Muskoka Summer Sessions

I'm trying to post daily...the plethora of photos that I just never got around to posting! I have so many! Probably one of my *favourite* collections ever...EVER. I love shooting in the summer. Love shooting in Muskoka. Rad light, trees, water and a super gorgeous, super fun couple?!?
I forget how much I love shooting couples. An opportunity to be more adventures and directional...(adults often tend to listen better than the two year olds embarking on new found independence!!! but I still lov'em). I'm never after the ideas, directions or styling of my couples/clients...it's what happens in between. I get 'posing'. Realllllly loath that word though.
For me, the posing leads to something else...and then something else. Kinda like life...everything just unfolds. And that's the big secret :)

BJ and Janet | Grandview Resort Huntsville

Absolutely one of my *favourite* favourite photos! BJ and Janet were married in the summer (I know I'm soooo late posting this!) at the Grandview Resort in Huntsville. Beatuiful location - the golf course is stunning. And feeding off the excitement of the two of them made the day and whole experience so effortless. Janet - thank you! You are one easy gal to work with!I had so much fun from the time I met you both, to the 'awkward' engagement shoot (joking! you guys were rockstars!)...I really need to post those pics too. Then at last the actual wedding day...it...YOU...both were brilliant. I'm so thankful that my passion connects me to people like the two of you and I'm so grateful for having the opportunity to provide you with something that you'll hold onto forever...
BJ...CONGRATS! Good luck in the NHL! Janet...no babies...yet! (but can't wait for pics when you ARE ready) Lots of time... :)

Jesse and Shantelle Muskoka 2007

My last 2007 wedding to post! I am so excited to share these photos - the wedding of Jesse and Shantelle was absolutely stunning! A Muskoka wedding set on the dock of their cottage on Lake Joe, I must admit I was a bit worried leading up to the day as the weather was not looking good at all, but everyone was in great spirits and the rain held off - the sun actually broke out later in the afternoon! The reception was held at the exclusive Port Carling Golf and Country Club - no detail spared! Everything was beautiful...Shantelle and Jesse, I wish you the best of luck! You are a beautiful couple (inside and out!) Truly such an amazing connection...thank you for sharing your magical day with me! xo
